On one of my recent fossicking trips I was delighted to come across this plate and saucer set made by Heathcote China. The pieces are Art Deco style, circa 1926-31 and in great vintage condition. They are a beautiful turquoise colour with accented gold borders and snowy white centres.
A bit of history........
In the mid 1800's Henry Mountford Williamson founded HM Williamson & Sons based at the Bridge Pottery Works, Heathcote Road in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent. This area is considered to be the home of the pottery industry in England and is commonly known as 'The Potteries'.
Heathcote China was manufactured between 1912 and 1941 which was when the pottery closed.
Initially this china was only ever going to be a clock, but it's so pretty it needs to be used for more than that! So it is being sold with the option to make it into a 2-tier mini cake stand.
As a clock this will look lovely hanging on your wall or sitting on your dresser on a small plate stand.
Using the 2-tier cake stand fitting it would grace any bathroom with lovely soaps or a dresser for jewellery.
Includes: Plate, saucer, 12mm clock movement with hanger & gold hands, assembly instructions, AA battery, gold zinc alloy cake stand fitting.
